May is such a lovely month. School graduations are happening soon, and the young people are getting restless. Slow down kids, adulting can wait. You will be doing mature stuff for the rest of your life. Focus on doing as little as possible, and that’s about the right speed for May. Just enjoy the ride.
If you are wondering what I will be doing this summer, it will be be loads of writing. I might travel, but only so I can write in a different location. I am starting to see the world through different eyes, now that my business is closed. I feel like I can see things that other people can’t. But I had to slow way down in order to get these things into focus.
Hot Apple Rosemary Muffins in May
I just finished with my classes too, and I am looking forward to completing my own writing assignment. Believe me, I have a pile. I feel a little of that old summertime freedom from school, just like the kids. But I am excited about doing more work, not doing less. Spoiler alert kids: this is real adulting… When you don’t stop working, you just work differently.

Summertime is for Being Free
What would I do with myself if I had absolutely nothing to do? Make a new friend? Dream a new dream? Do something silly like drive to New Mexico, just to eat a different type of enchilada? Or hike the length of Central Park just to say I did it? All of those sound divine. But frankly, right now I would rather be working. Crafting. Improving.
Do nothing while you can kids. Bumming around is an art in itself. At some point, you lose the knack for killing time. But that’s okay. You learn to enjoy simply watching younger people, as they get down to the business of enjoying a lazy summer.

I would like to try these muffins. I don’t bake too much these days, but this recipe sounds really good.
