Banana Fritters with Dulce de Leche Glaze are the best little donuts that you can easily make at home. If you are in the habit of making pancakes on the weekend, these little banana fritters will take less time to make.

Deep fried and delicious!

Occasionally I get in a mood and I want to explore a flavor in many different ways. This month the flavor was bananas. I was flipping through some old Southern cookbooks and I found a recipe for banana fritters that I wanted to try out. The fritters turned out so good that I wanted to share the recipe with you.

Platter of banana fritters with dulce de leche glaze

Bananas are originally from Asia. However, a multitude of different banana varieties are grown throughout Latin America. I thought I would pair these delicious little fritters with another rock star in Latin America flavors and that is dulce de leche. Banana Fritters with Dulce de Leche Glaze best flavor combo – not too sweet but you can def make them sweeter if you add more dulce de leche.

Perfect with Dulce de Leche glaze

If you can find an artisanal type of dulce de leche, that would be my recommendation. There are plenty of supermarket varieties of dulce de leches that are very good also. Here is one that will work for this recipe.

Dulce de leche can either be liquid like a caramel sauce or a thick fudgy candy sold in pieces. What you want for this recipe is a caramel sauce type. If you can’t find dulce de leche, simply use a caramel sauce. Even a store bought chocolate or fudge sauce would be absolutely delicious!
