Glass of Celery Lemonade
Celery lemonade is a refreshing alternative for soft drinks.

Celery Can Make A Refreshing Beverage

Celery Lemonade is an incredibly refreshing beverage on hot, dry summer days. I served this recipe to some visiting chefs from the Culinary Institute of America, and they were quite impressed! If you don’t care for celery, try substituting cucumber for an equally thirst quenching drink. And really, you only need a hint of sugar.

I have a tendency to post a lot of beverage recipes, as making homemade drinks is one of my favorite things to do. The flavors are unique for you and your guests, low in sugar, and keeps the garbage to a minimum. And, making a pitcher of lemonade is  a great activity for you to share with the kiddos.

Saving the Planet, One Drink at a Time

If you are really into saving the planet, consider becoming a homemade beverage expert. Think of all the paper cups, water bottles, and soda cans you could avoid putting in the landfill after they have completed their single serving purpose.

If you have a funky pitcher that your grandmother left you, then by all means use that for your lemonade. And if you really want to get funky, add some dry vermouth or a even a lemon vodka to your mixture. Use a celery stalk as a stir for your pitcher, and add a couple of bright lemon slices from an eye-catching table presentation.
