Pitcher Pineapple Margaritas are a great way to get the party started! Simply mix, pour and enjoy!

Does every recipe have to be a 3-hour kitchen commitment? We don’t think so! How about 3 minutes in your home cantina and the remaining time spent connecting with friends over cocktails and conversation? Let’s raise a glass in agreement!

Pitcher Pineapple Margaritas are an easy way to mix up a party in the comfort of your own kitchen. No blender action is required, unless you want the frozen version of this cocktail. If so, then simply add all the ingredients along with the ice, blend and serve. Party time!

Margaritas should always be shared

We opted out of a salty rimmer on this sweet cocktail but you can certainly add a rim salt if you like. We recommend cocktail style margarita salt for your rimmer, but you can combine the salt with other flavors as well. Add a dash of cayenne chile powder for a spicier rimmer or even lemonade mix to your margarita salt for a sweet and sour rimmer. Or, you could simply add a rock sugar swizzle stick for a sweet dessert style sip.

Party Planning

Serving margaritas on the rocks also gives you the opportunity to mix up your cocktails in advance. The flavors will combine perfectly if you pour your ingredients into a pitcher and store it in the refrigerator until the guests arrive. You can even make a double batch to avoid that awkwardness when you race to the kitchen to make more margaritas. Once the party is underway, you shouldn’t let it stop!

Pitcher Pineapple Margaritas should not be enjoyed alone. This recipe is screaming for a group of besties, a sparkling pool, coconut scented sunscreen and some delicious shade. The best things in life are meant to be shared. Call those lovely folks on your quick dial list, pass the tray of margaritas and get the party started!

Ingredients

Scale

Rimmer:

1 tbsp. margarita or kosher salt (12g)

1 tbsp. granulated sugar (12g)

1 tbsp. chile powder (8g)

1 packet lime juice crystals (<1g per packet)

Margaritas:

28 fl. oz. fresh pineapple juice (3.5 cups/828ml)

2 fl. oz. fresh lime juice (1/4 cup/88ml)

6 fl. oz. tequila (3/4 cup/118ml)

3 fl. oz. triple sec (1/3 cup/88ml)

4 cups ice (1lt)

Instructions

To prepare the rimmer, combine the rimmer ingredients in a small bowl and mix well. Pour the rimmer onto a plate.

Prepare the glasses by rubbing a lime wedge around the rim of the glass. Invert the glass over the plate of rimmer to coat the rim.

Pour the pineapple juice, lime juice, tequila and triple sec together into a pitcher and stir. Place ice cubes in the prepared glasses and pour in margarita.

For a pitcher of frozen margaritas, pour the pineapple juice, lime juice, tequila, triple sec into the container of a blender. Add the ice and blend until smooth.

Notes

to make ice cubes with pineapple juice, each ice cube tray typically holds about 32 oz of juice. (about 1 litre)
